Gibraltar Messenger

A Parody of The Parade

Gold, Frankincense and Yorkshire Tea Bags

A quirky feature of Gibraltar’s 65th three kings cavalcade, was the altogether unexpected appearance on foot of two reunited old boys from barmy Britain, bringing gifts to the East of 720 Yorkshire Tea Bags wrapped in three breeze-block-sized branded boxes.

What in Father’s name possessed these two ebullient old boys to suddenly join in the procession, half way down Main Street, and against all odds, substitute the gift of myrrh with the gift of mirthful merriment? For Samuel and Tony their respective reasons for play-acting-so, were not quite identical, yet both in a dualistic way had deadly serious connotations spiritually and physically.

For Samuel, the motivation derived exclusively from Munther Isaac, the famous pastor from the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church in Bethlehem. The forthright pastor gave a sermon this year titled “Christ Is Still in the Rubble,” referencing a sermon given this time last year titled “Christ in the Rubble,” about the loss of Palestinian life to Israel’s assault of Gaza. “Christmas celebrations are canceled in the West Bank and the the city of Bethlehem, Jesus’ birthplace, for the second year in a row in response to Israel’s genocidal attack on Gaza and ethnic-cleansing of the Occupied Palestinian Territories.”

For Samuel, the Yorkshire Tea-bags slant stemmed from his own “Christ in The Rubble” imitation stunt pulled off a year ago, when he off-loaded his Yorkshire Tea-Bag boxes onto the doorsteps of the GSD, which attracted the attention of the GBC. The exercise for him reminds him of the long running Yorkshire comedy “Last of The Summer Wine”.

For Tony, the Yorkshire Tea-bags angle was more to do with the fact that the wise men did NOT actually come FROM the East. Rather, the wise men came TO the East. Moreover they came TO the East from Britain.

For Tony, the Yorkshire Tea-bag boxes were not only reminiscent of last year’s rubble props left on the doorsteps of the GSD, but more importantly symbolic of the fact that the gift bringers in the Biblical story were actually British druids, and Yorkshire has much to do with his own reason for being on the Rock these last six and a half years, working for The Gibraltar Messenger after his adult working and studying days spent mostly in South and West Yorkshire.

While Tony’s reasons were obviously likewise partially linked to Munther Isaac’s second sermon, the more dominant reason for him to playfully join in the procession was much more associated with the Gospel of Matthew, and the story of the three kings, otherwise known as the story of the three Wisemen, or the Biblical Magi.

Matthew 2:1 Now when Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men (druids) to the East to Jerusalem,
2:2 Saying, Where is he that has been BORN King of the Jews? for we saw his “Star” in the East, and are come to worship him.

Upon sending surprise pictures of the event to the Gibraltar Messenger, replies soon came back as follows.

“They still think the kings came from the East, instead of to the East from the UK.”
“The Irish Bible correctly calls them DRUIDS. The kings were the arch-druids.”

Also, The Lamb of God was born in the Spring when the lambs were in the fields, the season of rebirth, not in the dead of Winter, either on December 25th or January 6th.

The good news for those who have eyes to see is that more can be gleaned about the truth about the essential true origins of the three wisemen by reading:

The Celts are Israelites Under Another Name.

The bad and sad news, is that, for the wilfully blind, the mirth and merriment of the three kings procession seems so utterly and grossly misplaced, given the genocide of Gaza remains unchecked, as so poignantly depicted by Munster Isaac’s second must-watch sermon.

Christ is Still In The Rubble:

The war is most certainly not over, whilstever Picardo and company in church and state, stand squarely alongside fake Israel, and so, blatantly, by their silence, condone the genocide in Gaza by their deathly silence and refusal to call a spade a spade, as we say in Yorkshire.

Yes, It’s A Genocide:

Pertinent Bible Reading about the True Israelites:

Acts 29:1-14
29:1 And Paul, full of the blessings of Christ, and abounding in the Spirit, departed out of Rome, determining to go to “Heber”ia (now called Spain), for he had a long time purposed to journey thereward, and was minded also to go from thence into Britain.
29:2 For he had heard in Phoenicia that certain of the children of Israel, about the time of the Assyrian captivity (around 722 B.C.), had escaped by sea to “the isles afar off” (and to The Rock), as spoken by the Prophet, and called by the Romans Britain.
29:3 And the Lord commanded the gospel to be preached far hence to the Gentiles, and to the “Lost” sheep of the “House of Israel” [the ten “Lost” tribes of Israel].
29:4 And no man hindered Paul; for he testified boldly of Jesus before the tribunes and among the people; and he took with him certain of the brethren which abode with him at Rome, and they took shipping at Ostium, and having the winds fair were brought safely into an haven of “Heber”ia (now called Spain).
29:5 And much people were gathered together from the towns and villages, and the hill country; for they had heard of the conversion of the Apostle, and the many miracles which he had wrought.
29:6 And Paul preached mightily in “Heber”ia (Spain), and great multitudes believed and were converted, for they perceived he was an Apostle sent by God.
29:7 And they departed out of “Heber”ia (now called Spain), and Paul and his company finding a ship in Armorica sailing unto Britain, they went therein, and passing along the South coast they reached a port called Raphinus.
29:8 Now when it was noised abroad that the Apostle had landed on their coast, great multitudes of the inhabitants met him, and they treated Paul courteously, and he entered in at the east gate of their city, and lodged in the house of an Hebrew and [who was also] one of his own nation (a Benjamite).
29:9 And on the morrow he came and stood upon Mount Lud (now known as Ludgate Hill); and the people assembled in the Broadway, and he preached Christ unto them, and many believed the Word and the testimony of Jesus.
29:10 And at even the Holy Spirit fell upon Paul, and he prophesied, saying, Behold in the last days the God of Peace shall dwell in the cities, and the inhabitants thereof shall be numbered; and in the seventh numbering of the people, their eyes shall be opened [to their true identity as Israel], and the glory of their inheritance shine forth before them. And nations shall come up to worship on the Mount that testifieth of the patience and longsuffering of a servant of the Lord.
29:11 And in the latter days new tidings of the Gospel shall issue forth out of Jerusalem, and the hearts of the people shall rejoice, and behold, fountains shall be opened, and there shall be no more plague.
29:12 In those days there shall be wars and rumours of wars; and a King shall rise up, and his Sword [of the Spirit] shall be for the healing of the nations, and his peacemaking shall abide, and the glory of his Kingdom a wonder among princes.
29:13 And it came to pass that certain of the Druids (Druid means Truth) came unto Paul privately, and showed by their rites and ceremonies they were descended from the Jews which escaped from bondage in the land of Egypt, and the Apostle believed these things, and he gave them the kiss of peace.
29:14 And Paul abode in his lodgings three months, confirming in the faith and preaching Christ continually.
